The 50-hectare industrial area located in the municipal districts of Grand-Couronne and Moulineaux, which has been made the subject of a call for declarations of interest valid until 28 May 2021, is among five Normandy sites designated in the “Stimulus Package”.
This government scheme is aimed at recreating employment-generating strategic and industrial activities on “turnkey” sites. The Port of Rouen's call for declarations of interest, part of its “port in a port” development objective to limit soil artificialisation, is in this way a strong response to the industrial comeback strategy being implemented by local regions.
The area is ideally situated with 100% multimodal service connections next to the international Rouen Valley Seine Logistics platform (RVSL) and the Container and General Cargo Terminal (TCMD). Its river and sea links offer rapid connections to Le Havre and the Greater Paris area.
Soon to be 3?
The Port of Le Havre's Supervisory Board is considering the possibility of proposing the allocation of “Stimulus Package” status to two industrial platforms in the Le Havre port area.
