Restoration of estuarine habitats in Lillebonne

As part of the measures supporting the project to improve its maritime access, HAROPA - Port of Rouen has carried out ecological restoration work on the Lillebonne dock site. The main objective of the restoration project is to create typical estuarine habitats such as mudflats and reedbeds.

The work consisted in clearing a former dredging sediment deposition chamber (93,000 m3 of evacuated material) and removing 300 m of protective dyke along the Seine to restore intertidal (tidal) environments located at the mouth of the Rivière du Commerce.
