Restoration of alluvial woodlands in Rives-en-Seine

HAROPA - Port of Rouen has restored alluvial afforestation in the commune of Rives-en-Seine as part of the compensation measures for the Saint-Wandrille dredging sediment transit facility.

The objective is to restore an alluvial willow forest by optimizing the wet facies of the afforestation by creating pools fed by groundwater and hydraulic offshoots connected to the Seine by valleys and ditches. The hydraulic offshoots connected to the Seine must allow the development of a reed bed and the installation of a mudflat in the deepest parts.

Amphibians, odonates and fish fauna correspond to the faunal groups targeted by this restoration.
