The Port of Rouen is thus developing actions to promote biodiversity within port areas in order to reconstitute an ecological network allowing animal and plant species to move about, feed and reproduce, within a territorial logic of green and blue grids.

The integration of biodiversity into port developments is reflected in multiple actions such as, for example:
Installation of hives

  • The fight against invasive alien species
  • The development of mixed shoreline development techniques such as shoreline greening
  • The construction of Natterjack toad ponds in the port area
  • Differentiated management of green spaces in port areas
