The project to extend the port of Limay-Porcheville

Published on
The port activity of Limay-Porcheville in full growth
Created in the 1970s, the Limay-Porcheville port area is the essential platform in western Paris. Specializing in eco-industries, it currently generates about 1,000 jobs and is constantly developing its activities with a doubling of its multimodal traffic between 2010 and 2015.
This dynamism leads to a 96% occupancy of the marketable portion of the port area.
The objective of the extension project is therefore to encourage the development of new economic activities in the area and to support the development of river transport.

A project that will bring new dynamics to the territory
Strengthening the current activities of the port area and meeting the expectations of economic players are major challenges for the development of the territory. The extension project will allow the implementation of new activities and provide a competitive multimodal offer.
Which participates in the development of the Seine axis and promotes multimodality
In a context of increasing river traffic, developing the capacity of the port of Limay-Porcheville is a priority objective in order to contribute to the development of the Seine axis. The port area of Limay-Porcheville already has strong potential, given the quality of its multimodal infrastructure (river, rail, road).
To be exemplary in environmental matters
To preserve residents’ living environment and their uses, the project will pay particular attention to the quality of landscaping. Ecological continuities, integrated into the green fabric of the territory, will be created between the city and the river.
The project to extend the port of Limay-Porcheville also aims to obtain ISO 14001 certification guaranteeing the environmental quality of the action carried out by the Port
